Lauren Conrad was a fan favorite on Laguna Beach and The Hills. Her recent reality TV retirement has apparently done little to diminish that status.
The 23-year-old's debut novel, L.A. Candy, which draws parallels with LC's real life, has topped the New York Times Best Seller list - for two weeks!
"If someone said to me five years ago that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn't have believed it," Conrad said.
"I am so honored that it is now a reality."Although she is used to the spotlight, she's still in awe over her literary accomplishment, especially given that this is her first foray into fiction: "It was such a compliment to be included in something with such established names."
L.A. Candy is loosely based on the life of Lauren Conrad, and follows Jane Roberts, a 19-year-old girl who moves to Hollywood and ends up as the star of her own reality show, surrounded by all sorts of interesting characters.
